Actually do something instead of complaining

If this New Constitution were ratified, it would have positive impact on you and your children and grandchildren - all generations to come. It is time to stop complaining and to do something that will actually change things for the better. Your input and support is needed!!

Nearing completion of the New Constitution

I have completed my first polished draft of the New Constitution.  I am asking several people to read it and critique it before publication.  I intend publishing the New Constitution for public critique on this web blog on November 1, 2011.  I hope you will come back then to read it and give everyone your comments.

Some new provisions for the New Constitution

Here are some things you will find in the New Constitution which were not in the original Constitution:

1. The Right to produce children
2. A balanced budget
3. Term limits on all federal elected officials and the Supreme Court justices
4. Predefined national referendums including elected officials salaries, declaration of national emergency
5. Value added tax is only federal tax
6. The Right of sexual preference
7. The Right to private sexual actions among consenting Adults
8. The Right of a competent Adult to make decisions about their own body
9. A sunset provision for the New Constitution itself.
10. A sunset provision on all laws
11. Estimated cost of all Bills must be included in the Bill
12. Congress cannot enact laws that only apply to Congres or only to the People.

There are more that I will discuss later.

Still looking for input.

The New Constitution: Sunset provision?

The New Constitution: Sunset provision?: I am mulling over a provision that every bill passed by Congress should have an expiration date attached so the bill must be rethought in X ...

Sunset provision?

I am mulling over a provision that every bill passed by Congress should have an expiration date attached so the bill must be rethought in X years, ie a sunset provision.  If I add this, how would the number of years be specified?  Maybe Congress can make the decision on each bill but there is a maximum of 20 years?

Another provision I am thinking about is requiring that all bills passed by Congress must include the annual cost to the government and to the public for the life of the bill. This makes sense for budgeting and impact purposes. But what should be done if the included annual cost turns out not to be correct?

The Process of implementing a New Constitution

First of all, this is my first blog so I am sure I will cause some problems.

The process of implementing a new Constitution is pretty straight forward. A Constitutional Amendment and the New Constitution will be offered for ratification declaring the original Constitution will terminate on a specific date with the New Constitution taking its place.  Enough time (10 years) will be given from date of ratification to implementation in order to get all processes in place for the change.

Ratification of the New Constitution will follow the precedent established in ratifying the original Constitution: It will be submitted for ratification as is without amendments - it will be an up or down vote.
